We just got off of deadline last night. These past two weeks have been filled with a lot of ups and downs at the office. We worked hard to squeeze in tons of information for our readers. Even this morning, I got some news that would have been great for this issue, but it was too late. Our drivers are out delivering the paper right now, and I must say, it looks great.
This big news has been Bynum/Weeks situation. We were just as surprised as everyone else to hear the news. The publishers were getting calls about the couple all the way from California.
Also big was Bishop Eddie Long’s 20th anniversary. WOW!!! 20 years went by fast. I remember when I was in high school, New Birth was a growing church. And to look back and see what they’ve accomplished is amazing. They’ve done so much in the community in that period of time.
The 100 Black Men of DeKalb had their annual gala this week. Anyone who is anyone was in attendance. The black tie event was held at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta.
